Biography
Bo Swanger began playing drums at the young age of 6. He studied drums and percussion under Mike Marlier. (Bela Fleck, Dotsero) At The Denver University Lamont School Of Music. Now at age 34 Bo works as a professional freelance drummer and has either performed or recorded for several local and national acts with genres ranging from Jazz to Punk Rock. Artist including Biff Gore from season 6 of NBC’s “The Voice”, Blues Hall of Fame inductee Johnny Mannion, Reese Roper of Five Iron Frenzy, Gospel Legend and Dove Award Winner Bryan Duncan Contemporary Christian artists Stephanie Pauline and Debbie Milligan, And National Country Gospel Recording Artist Milton Carroll. And many other artists have commissioned Bo for recordings and performances. No matter it’s a live performance or studio recording. Bo’s sole purpose as a professional musician is to serve the music and to showcase the artist performing.
Bo is also an accomplished drum instructor and international author, In 2014 Bo released his first drum instructional book entitled “Rhythm Development” published by Amazon. Bo also offers drum instruction from his home studio and over the Internet VIA Skype. Bo had a student go on to study at Berkley College of Music, and another student played “The Late Show with David Letterman”! Bo loves to see his students thrive in their drumming and has proven to be successful as an inspiration and mentor to his students.
Whether it’s playing a show, recording a record or TV commercial, or teaching a student, Bo loves what he does as a “Full Time Drummer” and he feels honored to do so
